Edward G. McNeil, CPA is a tax partner with over 18 years of public accounting experience. He also has over four years experience in private industry working in the tax department of a publicly traded environmental remediation company. He services a wide variety of client groups including real estate (low income housing tax credit, historic tax credit and affordable housing deals), non-profit organizations, and high net worth individuals.
Ed has extensive experience in tax planning and compliance for individuals, partnership, corporation, trusts and non-profits organizations. Ed has provided clients with analysis and advice regarding applying for, maintaining and complying with low income housing tax credits.
Ed has represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service and the Massachusetts Department of Revenue for various compliance related audits. He has given presentations to non-profit boards regarding the changes to the federal form 990.
Internally, Ed is involved in the firm’s mentoring and recruiting programs. He currently serves on the Massachusetts Society of CPA’s (MSCPA) state tax committee and was the committee chairperson from 2009-2011. As chairperson he was able to work with other CPAs and the Massachusetts Department of Revenue to have a better understanding of the unitary tax and non-resident partner withholding laws. He also oversaw the annual state tax conference including introducing the Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Revenue. He is also a member of the MSCPA, the Tax Division of the American Institute of CPAs and the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce. He is a graduate of Xaverian Brothers High School and Bentley College.
Ed is an avid sports fan, following the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins and Celtics. He is also an amateur photographer who has taken many of the pictures featured on the firm’s Facebook page.
