Virtual Servers

We are in the process of virtualizing all of our servers to an economical cluster.  We’ll use two Dell servers and a Dell storage area network (SAN).

Half of our servers will be virtualized on the first server, and half will be virtualized on the second server.  In the event one of the servers suffers a failure, the other server will recover each virtual server on the failed server.  The SAN has redundant power, storage controllers and disks to ensure it won’t fail.

For a nominal investment this scenario creates a redundant environment which can be the backbone of your disaster recovery plan.
